Introduction to World Wide Web: The World Wide Web, abbreviated as WWW and commonly known as the Web, is a system of interlinked hypertext documents accessed via the Internet. With a web browser, one can view web pages that may contain text, images, videos, and other multimedia and navigate between them via hyperlinks.

To use the Web, in addition to an Internet connection, a user needs a special piece of software called a Web Browser (such as Internet Explorer). The browser acts as the graphical interface between the user and the Internet – it sends the necessary command to request data from other computers and then format them for the user’s screen. Documents that are formatted using hypertext markup language (HTML) contain tag lines that inform the browser how to format them.

The World Wide Web is a large system of servers, which offers all kinds of information to anyone pn the Net. The information can be n the form of regular text, as well as pictures, sounds, and other types ofdata. To access this information, it is required to have a client program called Browser

There are two reasons why the World Wide Web is so popular First, it is easy to use Second, it is easy to create the web to share information with people all over the Net Electronic Mail Unlike manual mail delivary system the electronic mail delivary system is very fast and efficient The postal delivery in this system may neither be stopped by snow nor by rain, heat, night, wind etc The attraction of e-mail is, no doubt, its speed It has a speed of the telephone without a requirement of both parties be available at the same instant It also leaves a written copy of delivered message with the sender. It also provides a way of sending same message to multi destinations at the same instant.
